"Mr. Fahey" by Mickey Cochran
John Fahey ... my "guitar hero", period. This is a tribute to him. I did my best in recreating the classic John Fahey feel in this rendition. Yes, it is performed on a banjitar; however, this gives his stylings a whole 'nother feel. You can almost hear the voice of the turtle. Just imagine sitting by a mist-filled swamp in the bottomlands of the Tennessee river ... say near Coffee Slew where the Cypress Tree roots grow directly out of the waters. You just have to wonder if Fahey himself wasn't inspired by this deep South mystic setting?
